Why Traveling Sucks!!!

in #travelfeed6 years ago (edited)

There have been times when I see a picture of someone with a backpack living a nomadic life, moving from one city to another... one day enjoying Moroccan tea with the locals to other days hiking to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

And there have been times when I see a post saying- this entire world is my home and I get this feeling to just pack my bag and leave everything behind.

The idea of traveling can be a bit intriguing for many or it could be just to make someone clinch their pockets and very intimidating...

Let me make it easier for you, by giving you reasons why you shouldn't travel...

:::::♥ ♥:::::

Home sweet home

If you travel you will be spending one day in the African jungles and another looking at the Northern lights, and you wouldn't want to miss living in the same house in the same neighborhood year after year. So why go out when you can explore the whole world on Instagram.

“Traveling is like flirting with life. It’s like saying, ‘I would stay and love you, but I have to go; this is my station.” — Lisa St. Aubin de Teran

You will risk making new friends for life

Drinking coffee on weekends and clubbing with your childhood friends is more than enough...why make friends that you can't even count, it can be exhausting having friends in every city around the world willing to host you, wanting to spend time with you, this sounds like a scary thought.

You already know everything

If you travel you will always be hungry for more, more knowledge, more experiences, more adventure, more stories, you will always be curious to learn new things. And we all know curiosity kills the cat. So you shouldn't travel and risk gaining more knowledge, it can really stuff your brain.

Sharing is overrated

You won't be able to watch your favorite movies or shows but instead, have to bear the real-life stories of other travelers.. Sounds boring right? Why would you want to meet someone new, and hear their stories and experiences of how they were almost killed by the lion in one of the safaris, or how someone lost their finger on Everest when you can just sit lazily on your sofa and watch Netflix all day.

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”― Anthony Bourdain

Jokes apart

Leaving your hometown and your comforts can be scary for some.

When I was a kid, My father had a transferable job and we would move to a new city after every two years which always made me feel angry and sad as i had to leave behind my friends, school, and everything I had there.
But as I grew older I realized I know about so many cultures, I am not afraid of moving into a new territory now, I can take more risks, I don't worry about the materialistic things and possessions.

I would love to paint sunsets every day from different cities, try different cuisines, learn new cultures, hike every mountain possible, do every adventure sports from skydiving to ice skating, buy every handmade item from the roadside vendor and at the end have some awesome stories to share. It doesn't matter where I go and what I see, I would just want to leave this crazy stressful routine and wake up every day feeling amazing.

“Would you please tell me, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the cat.
“I don’t much care where … ” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the cat.”
— Lewis Carroll

Now you decide if traveling really sucks?

Much love 😍

Ha, you had me at first. I was about to just on here and say how wrong you were!!!!. Too Funny. You could not be more right. Traveling is what has opened me up to a much board world view. It would be too easy to say "those people" if I were isolated to my square corner of the world but since I have experienced so much of the world, I have to truly accept that we are all human and we all face similar hardships and rewards.

Great post.

I hear you.. During my journeys, I have met some beautiful crazy people, heard some amazing stories, and experienced things which I could have never even though of If I haven't left my comfort zone and traveled.
and so true it gives so much exposure and teaches you how to survive which no one else can do.
I look forward to hearning your travel stories.
Love and hugs

haha yes, it's in your blood!

I loved so much this post that I actually forward it to three of my friends who do not like to travel and always tell me how much fun it is to be a couch potato. Great post!

@lymepoet I am so happy that you enjoyed reading the post and shared with others..I have a group of friends too who would rather enjoy their holidays shopping and watching the latest episodes of whatever is going on...and It feels like a task to just drag them to even for a weekend trip.
Thank you
