There are definitely some very pretty parts to Central Texas, and springtime is definitely the best time to be there, especially when the wildflowers are in full bloom. I lived in the Austin/Round Rock area from 1981 to 2006, so I know the area pretty well... although I hear the population boom there has changed things quite a bit.
