Always keep in mind that visiting art-related as well as historical places is a good way to really get to know each country.

As we say in my country, what we promise is a debt, today I will introduce you to the majestic national art gallery of Venezuela, a place of great dimensions where the largest collection of art in the country is found. Due to the dimensions of the space I have decided to show the gallery in two parts. Let's start with this incredible tour.

The national art gallery was founded in the year 1974 being its main headquarters where the fine arts museum is located, in 2005 the architectural work of Carlos Gómez de Llarena was finished becoming one of the biggest art galleries in Latin America where the biggest collection of plastic arts of Venezuela is located.

In this first part I am showing the exterior and interior zones of the ground floor of the gallery. Its exterior spaces are provided with a super resistant non-translucent glass cover that allows a soft light entrance to the whole building and is of a semi-circular form, supported by concrete and steel columns that resemble tree branches providing a unique and very pleasant spatial experience.

Also in the exterior spaces we can find some works of recognized sculptors that complement the spatial beauty as if they were inhabitants that make life inside the building.

The gallery has at least 30,000 square meters of space that are divided into 3 galleries and administrative spaces, curatorial and conservation workshops for the restoration of the works, and last but not least, spaces for tasting traditional sweets, which is very similar to any cafeteria and a shop specializing in selling art, crafts and making permanent plastic arts workshops.

On the ground floor is the first exhibition room, the space is immense with a height of over 20 meters with professional space lighting for works of art. Currently, the exhibition entitled "Crossed Stories" is being opened. It includes a collection of works donated by the Industrial Bank of Venezuela with works that are from the 21st and 20th centuries.

Among the most outstanding paintings are those of the painter Arturo Michelena of whom I will make a special work since I agree that he is one of the most representative painters we have in Venezuela. From this artist we will get from his sketches and studies to his most emblematic works such as Miranda en la carraca or a selection of paintings from his bullfighting period.

In the tour I could observe part of the work of the artist José Antonio Dávila dedicated to the hyperrealist style where the cats and fruits are part of most of his compositions. Arturo Michelena belongs to the artists of the 19th century and Dávila to the artists of the 20th century.

Another artist I am very interested in is César Rengifo who has two paintings in this exhibition, this artist is very important since he tells through theater and painting part of our history as a nation.

The gallery has amphitheater space that is not suitable for presentations, in fact many spaces are disabled, and this is because the work was not completed 100% was pending a garden with sculptures to walk and some rooms that would serve for other types of exhibitions even so the gallery seems very beautiful and worth visiting because they make different assemblies of works of art.

In my category of 10 I will give it a 9 since it is easy to access, it has two subway or underground stations a few meters away, public transportation and in my case that I moved in my own car also has parking and in general there is very good security.

The entrance to the museum is totally free, in the cafeteria you can buy a nice coffee for less than a dollar 0.30$ and the cakes from 0.50$ to 1.5 quite cheap.
