Travel Digest

#1 Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

First, @steef-05 takes us around Ha Long Bay in Vietnam. The 3,500 islands scattered throughout the Bay of Tonkin make this place one of the seven wonders of nature. On day one of her three-day/two-night cruise, she was rescued from a sinking canoe, and spent time swimming and jumping from the boat into the water. The boat sailed around the islands and floating villages providing ample photo opportunities, before arriving at Cat Ong Island for dinner and beers.

#2 Swiss Museum of Transportation, Lucerne, Switzerland

Next, @pipurilla takes us to the Swiss Museum of Transport near Lucerne, Switzerland. This museum allows you to get up close and personal with numerous planes including the most successful transport aircraft of all time, a Douglas DC-3, in the colours of Swissair. Plane lovers definitely get their money's worth here, with plenty of decommissioned aircraft and a helicopter to enjoy, as well as a fighter jet simulator you can test your pilot skills in.

#3 Mystic Seaport Museum, USA

Finally, @dfinney takes us to Mystic, Connecticut in the USA. Home to the largest maritime museum in the country, the area has a long maritime history with deep roots in the whaling industry. In the museum's village, it is possible to explore several sailing ships as well as learn of their construction. You can then move on to the exhibitions on whaling, Vikings and a planetarium before visiting the fully functioning shipyard.
