Tony Simanovsky

Marketing data scientist, ICO focused growth hacker, blockchain enthusiast, digital nomad.

Tony Simanovsky is an online marketing specialist with more than 10 years of experience. In September 2012, he gave up his office job and started traveling. He lived in India, Thailand, Israel, Sri Lanka and Brazil, drove 30,000 kilometers on his bike across Europe, at the moment, he lives in the United States. In spite of this, he became an acknowledged expert in web analytics and conversion optimization, he managed to build a successful international team in this field. Today, Tony's team helps Internet companies around the world scale their business with the help of the correct collection and use of statistics.

TravelChain: Tony, can you tell us a few words about what you do: why and how is it connected with blockchain technologies and the cryptocurrency economy?

Tony: I have been professionally engaged in Internet marketing since 2004. When I was given an opportunity to pass my expertise to a new field (blockchain), for me it was both a fresh start and challenge. Moreover, I share the blockchain principles, so it was an extra motivation for me. I use my experience in marketing and management, which I'd been earning for more than 13 years working in the industry, to help startups and successful businesses to launch and promote ICO. And as it seems to me I'm doing quite a good job.

TravelChain: What prospects do you think blockchain technologies have to offer to society?

Tony: I see it very simple, blockchain is a next (actually, current) big thing. At the moment, mostly enthusiasts are involved in it, most probably, it will take 1-2 years for mass adoption (and, consequently, even more significant impact on society), it will change the way people posses and use information and exchange something valuable (information, money and so on).

TravelChain: Can the cryptocurrency economy become a worthy alternative to the existing system and why?

Tony: I am sure it will, it is just a matter of 2-4 years.

TravelChain: How could you assess the current state of the tourism market? What problems do service suppliers and consumers have?

Tony: I've hardly used use services of conventional tourism in my entire life. I have always booked everything I needed: plane tickets, transfers, hotels. I am positive that the market still doesn't have enough tools for a traveler to easily organize the whole process of non-standard travel.

TravelChain: How could blockchain technologies change the travel industry development?

Tony: Blockchain for the travel industry can become a universal and secure interaction protocol between the end user, service provider and the service that brings them together.

TravelChain: What do you think about TravelChain project and why did you agree to cooperate with us?

Tony: It has a passionate team, right goal-setting in my opinion, and appropriate situation analysis.

TravelChain: The ICO boom is well under way. ICO campaigns have to distribute a significant part of the budget for marketing, which does not always have a favorable effect on the projects. Can you give advice to the teams how to properly administer funds allocated for ICO?

Tony: First: run a PR campaign with clear and compelling message for brand recognition, $ 100-300k on average. Second: after the PR campaign, focus on marketing, it is $150-400k on average. Third: one more important focus – investor relations.

TravelChain: In 2012, you decided to change your life: you left your work and set out on a trip. Can you tell us about this period in more detail? What motivated you? How did this affect your professional and personal growth?

Tony: You can find more details here: stony.me/about/. Broadly speaking, leaving a comfort zone opens up new opportunities. Since I started living in different countries not limiting myself with one location, I launched two international businesses, learned Portuguese, practiced capoeira for four years, and danced for two years.

TravelChain: You live and work in the USA. What is the general attitude to the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency within the general public? How would you assess the prospects for the technology development in the US?

Tony: For 4 months I live in the States, I see that there is a large blockchain community here, but I would not say that the USA is the leader (there are Asia, Canada, some countries in Europe with a lot of strong projects and specialists). And also, the ICO market here is highly regulated.
