Real Life Captured #87: Huaquillas Border Town! Ecuador Side Pt Two (13 photos)

in #travel6 years ago

Hey there my Steemit friends! Traveling south from the economic capital city of Guayaquil I spent one night in the border town of Huaquillas. This was a strange place as the town was kind of shared between both Ecuador and Peru. All you had to do was walk over a bridge and you were in a different country.

In these photos we see how things were being done in the Ecuadorian side. Also know that when you walked from one side to the other there were no immigration enforcement or anything. Both Ecuadorian and Peruvian sides were accepting US dollars and Peruvian Soles for purchases; as Ecuador uses the US dollar.

The biggest difference from the Ecuadorian side and the Peruvian side was the culture, the infrastructure, and what was being sold. In these photos we see the Ecuadorian side, which seemed to be in a little better condition. Now let's have a look at this set of Real Life Captured Photos!

interesting to see all the different carts they've got, nice share!

Thanks buddy! So glad you find my posts interesting. Yours on a whole other level! Going to stop by now and see you latest!

That sounds like a really intersting place @world-travel-pro.

These are just photographs of the Ecuadorian side, is that correct? 😊

Yes, just the Ecuadorian side.

Friend Dan, interesting and surprising what you say about there being no immigration officers, which should generate some lack of control in both countries. The photos he presents are very representative of the Ecuadorian economy at the border level, which is very different from what he has shown about Galapagos. I will be aware of your next publication. Best regards.

Thanks for your detailed comment as always. Yes some borders in some countries are well protected and other not at all. Ecuador has some of the loosest borders I've ever seen!
