Small b&b in Hawai'i accepting BITCOIN - and heres the story of our first BTC guests!

Updating from Volcano Inn, Hawai'i where we gladly accept Bitcoin for payment for your accommodation.

We wanted to share this special picture of our VERY FIRST BITCOIN guests!

Story:
Kevin booked a room online with Volcano Inn in March 2017 and was supposed to pay for his room upon arrival. When he came to the office to check-in, he saw our little sign at the front desk advertising that we accept bitcoin! He asked if he could pay bitcoin instead of cash, to avoid the extra fees associated with pulling out cash from a nearby ATM.

My ears perked up from behind the desk, because until then no one had really mentioned (or knew anything about) bitcoin before this day.

"Of course!" I replied.

I was very excited because at that point back in March, we had just opened a bitcoin wallet for the business. Just a month earlier we decided we would accept it at our location as another form of payment. We ended up giving him a 15% discounted lower rate for being our FIRST customer to pay with bitcoin and I'm sure he enjoyed saving a few bucks by using the currency of the future.

Within a minute, the bitcoin was transferred into our BTC wallet, and we had officially done our first BTC transaction. Because I was so excited, I immediately asked if they would be comfortable modeling for a picture so we can promote our first BTC customer on our social media platforms, and they kindly agreed.

Since then we have had a few other people book with us using bitcoin, but we are still searching for different platforms where we can advertise that we accept Bitcoin. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you for checking out our post, as we are still very new to Steemit, but glad to be here!
