A visit to Sariska Tiger Reserve 🐯

in #travel6 years ago

I have travelled quite alot in the past months and this is one of it, the 'Sariska Tiger Reserve'. I went there with my mom & dad and enjoyed the journey as well as the destination. After long time, i was with my parents and i was feeling very calm.

Here is a picture of me with my mom :

Sariska Tiger Reserve

As the name suggests, this tiger reserve is a national park habitating the Tigers. This is located in Alwar city of Rajasthan State in India. It is covered by Aravali Forest which is a range of Himalayan hills coming down to Northen regions of India.

Here's the entry board while we were driving into it, its written in our native language Hindi :

The tiger reserve also has a very famous temple located in its area due to which the tiger reserve has many visitors. Even though the tigers are wandering in open here, people still choose to go to the reserve to visit the temple.I have also heard the tigers stay away from the temple premises. The whole premises is very natural and very rocky, at one point somewhere in the way, the area got so rocky that we turned back, and there were boards listing down warnings and danger signs. On the top of it all, there was a board having somewhere around 20 names - names of the people who have died there with their death date.

These are two of the sign boards :

I did not get to see a tiger though, but my friend got to see one, he just visited a week after i visited and he clicked some great shots of the tigers too. All i got see were Peacocks, wild pigs and deers.

Here are some pictures, that shows the density of rocks and the dense forest itself :

What I observed is that the locals did not care much, there were few locals of the area who seemed chill, like this picture below.

I was wondering what are they doing bathing this little baby in one of the reservoirs where tiger can come any moment :

Then there was this lady far from me, i took this shot from our car. She was feeding the birds fearlessly :

But I suppose they are locals, so they know the time and area pattern of the tigers.

We were driving in our car for many kilometers, then it got rocky and we had to get off the car, then it got so rocky and dangerous that we turned back.

The way to the Tiger reserve was also quite natural, below are some shots i clicked :

In this muddy water, my dad and I spotted an crocodile looking fish, which i tried but failed to click. We were not sure of what we saw but it huge and looked like crocodile to us.

I am hoping some day soon, i will go back there again and will get lucky to spot a tiger.

Till next blog, have a good day :)
