Long Crawl to South Texas

As of this moment, Vanholio is settin' afront a Stripes in Falfurrias, Texas. He just ate a couple breakfast tacos, is drinkin' his coffee, and doin' a little update.

If ya ever make it to South or West Texas, try out the Laredo Taco Company counters inside Stripes. Best Mexican food around at its price point. Serious! The little old ladies workin' there make the tortillas fresh – no shit from a plastic bag!

That's why Stripes is one a Vanholio's Top 5 favorite US convenience stores!

Not much to say otherwise, but I feel I owe this post to prosperity. In the coming week or two, I might not post at all, what with visitin' my people for the holidays and all.

Yeah, so Ieft Louisiana last Saturday, Dec. 8 ... And not quick enough, goddammit! Pretty state, but the pigs was on my tail.

Did an end run around Houston. Didn't wanna deal with that shit. Houston sucks at the best a times, and who knows how much highway repair's goin' on since the fuckin' hurricane! No, thank you!

The one fun thing I had planned along the way was tourin' the Blue Bell Ice Cream plant in Brenham, Texas. But since they come back online after the listeria crisis(es), they ain't had no tours. Just the visitor center and Country Store is open. Dammit! That tour's been on Vanholio's list a long damn time!

But now I've arrived in South Texas. Weather's warmer. Food's better. And I'm about to hang with some a the people closest to my heart.
