Festival Hue 2018 "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development, Hue - one destination, five World Heritages"

If you have any questions about where to travel in late April / early May, let me introduce you to the Hue Festival 2018 held in Hue City, Viet Nam where I live April 27 to May 2, 2018.

Hue Festival is held every two years, the first is in 2000. This year is the 10th Festival Hue was organized with the theme "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development, Hue - one destination, five World Heritages". Hue Festival 10th - 2018 is the succession and affirm the success of the previous Festival; is where the convergence and exchange of art among the cultures of the countries, to further promote international exchanges; To promote the values ​​of Vietnamese culture and Hue culture, promote the development of tourism and socio-economic development of Thua Thien Hue province in the process of active and active integration into the country.

Hue Festival 2018 is associated with political events, cultural history of Thua Thien Hue and National: It will be held to commemorate the historical and cultural milestones of Vietnam and Thua Thien Hue Province, especially the 230th anniversary of the coronation of King Nguyen Hue in Ban Mount (1575-1788 ); 25th anniversary (1993-2018) of UNESCO recognition of Hue monument complex as a World Cultural Heritage Site; 15th anniversary of UNESCO recognition bestowed on Hue’s Court Music as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity (2003-2018).

Hue Festival 2018 is organized on a national and international scale, bringing together outstanding art programs, representations and imprints of different cultural regions in the world. In particular, focus on the essence of Vietnamese culture and art, especially the cultural heritage of Hue. The festival will feature over 20 international art troupes from Korea, Israel, Mongolia, Japan, Thailand, China, Philippines, India, Britain, Denmark, Russia, France, Spain, Belgium, Slovakia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Australia, Morocco ... May be mentioned as:
Korean Traditional Skill Successor Incorporated Association; Kaloob: Philippine Music & Dance Ministry; Daniel Casares is a Spanish artist; The Moroccan musical troupe of Gnaoua “Majid Bekkas”; Deni Hines and The Soulful Crew - Australia; Yun Myung Hwa Dance Ensemble ft. • Grand Opening Ceremony: April 27 (20:00), at Noon Gate Square: is a combination of traditional values and contemporary art that bring the life of Hue, the many cultural regions of Vietnam and the countries of five continents. The performances are prepared, elaborately orchestrated, promising to be a special art party to send to the public and the audience.

• Nam Giao Offering Ritual: April 27 (03:00), at Nam Giao Esplanade: he Nam Giao Royal Offering Rite was a periodical celebration in the Nguyen dynasty which aimed to pray for favourable weather conditions, prosperity and peace. This year, the ceremony will be solemnly held in an authentic way to express a sincere appreciation. The rite has received eager response and participation of the public in the ancient city.

• Artistic program “Royal Hue’s Essence”: April 28 & 30 (19:15-21:15), at the Imperial City: is a comprehensive art show organized by the Center for Conservation Hue Monuments. It is a program that combines a variety of elements: dance, chorus, animation, poetry, music, sound effects, led screen effects, light effects, color smoke, technical fireworks and many other resonance elements in theatrical arts.

• Royal banquets: from April 27 to May 2 (19:30), at the Royal Theatre –Imperial City: you will enjoy the dishes cooked for the king.

• Street performances themed “Cultural Colours”: from April 28 to May 1 (16:00), along main streets of the city centre: During the past Hue Festivals, the program of Street Parades created a joyful atmosphere and fabulously contributed to stir the crowd. Taking the theme “Colors of Culture”, the event of this year will be held every afternoons and its itineraries cover both residential areas on the north and south of the Perfume river. The resonance between talents of international and Vietnamese artists and the excitement of the public will create a space of friendship at Hue Festival 2018.

• National competition of ritual singings “Chầu văn and Hát văn” - from April 26 to April 29 (19:00), at the Provincial Culture & Information Center.

• Trinh Cong Son’s music concert - April 28 (19:00-21:00), at Phu Van Lau Park: The music concert themed “Roost” to be introduced to audiences is about the homeland, human destiny, love for cities, lullaby, Da vang songs, children songs, a long piece of music with 13 ditties. All of these can be referred to in only one word: "Meditation". The concert gathers many prominent artists and singers of Viet Nam.

• Spectacle “Echoes from the Perfume River” - April 29 (20:00), on the confluence of the Perfume and Gia Hoi River - Trinh Cong Son Park: As a natural, profound, silky and truthful watercolor painting, “Echoes from the Perfume River” is a very special artistic program which depicts the watery landscape and the lives of Hue people. This large and complex program will be performed on a flooded stage on the Perfume River, which will make the audience eager. It touches the heart of the audience by the friendliness of Hue people, cultural identity, tranquility and its slow pace.

• Spectacle “Enlightened Faith” by the Provincial Buddhism Association - May 1 (20:00), at the Da Vien Bridge’s Park.

• Ao dai Show - May 1 (20:00), at the Quoc Hoc Square: Ao dai show has always been one of the most awaited programs of Hue Festival. With the desire to convey love, passion with ao dai, traditional culture, the designers have created collections that showcase the unique beauty of the natural landscape of the country to the. The image of the traditional culture of Vietnam, highlighted background of a Vietnamese beauty, the beauty of Hue.
