Discovering Dublin - Music, Whiskey & Seafood, Part 2 / Dublin entdecken - Musik, Whisky und Meeresfrüchte, Teil 2
After we could check off music and whiskey from our list (see Part 1 of our Dublin trip) we were ready to enjoy the treasuries of the Dublin bay.
Nachdem wir die Punkte Musik und Whisky von unserer Liste abhaken konnten (siehe Teil 1 unseres Dublin Trips), waren wir nun bereit, uns die Schätze der Dubliner Bucht servieren zu lassen.
To get the best seafood in the area we were recommended to go to the Howth peninsula north-east of the Dublin bay.
Um die besten Meeresfrüchte der Region zu geniessen, wurde uns ein Ausflug auf die Halbinsel Howth im Nordosten der Dubliner Bucht empfohlen.
And so we took the DART train from Dublin, Connolly station and 30 min later we arrived in Howth, welcomed by squawking seagulls and the horns of fishing trawlers.
Und so bestiegen wir am Connolly-Bahnhof den DART-Zug und wurden 30 Minuten später von kreischenden Möwen und den Signalhörnern von Fischkuttern in Howth empfangen.
Freshly caught seafood at every corner.
Fangfrische Meeresfrüchte an jeder Ecke.

...and after cooked. In all honesty, this was the best Paella I ever enjoyed.
...und nach der Zubereitung. Ganz ehrlich, hier wurde mir die beste Paella aller Zeiten serviert.
The emblem on this fishing trawler prompted me to google the meaning of "Pog Mo Thoin". In hindsight I could have guessed it :-)
Das Wappen dieses Trawlers veranlasste mich die Bedeutung von "Pog Mo Thoin" zu ergoogeln. Rückblickend hätte ich selbst darauf kommen können :-)
To promote the digestion of our delicious yet substantial meals we set off for the cliff-walk that Howth is famous for.
Um die Verdaung des gleichermassen köstlichen wie substantiellen Essens zu befördern, sind wir zu einer Klippenwanderung aufgebrochen, die kein Howth-Besucher auslassen sollte.
What a place to live!

I hope you enjoyed this little excursion to Dublin and its surrounding area. If you haven´t had the chance so far, I can warmly recommend going there. Dublin has so much to offer and you will meet lots of very friendly people there.
Ich hoffe diese kleine Exkursion nach Dublin und Umgebung hat Euch gefallen. Sofern Ihr noch nicht selbst die Gelegenheit dazu hattet, kann ich Euch einen Trip dorthin nur wärmstens empfehlen, Dublin hat unglaublich viel zu bieten und ein Besuch dort lohnt sich schon allein um der vielen freundlichen Menschen, die man dort begegenen wird.

Glad to hear that @smalltalk. I can really recommend going there, lots to see and discover in Dublin and the bay.
Aside from the Hop on, Hop off -Tour I would recommend to get the Rambler Day ticket for 6 Euro which you can get already at the airport. It allows you to use each Dublin bus route for the whole day.
In case your interested in Irish pubs, these where our favorite ones:
Stags Head south city centre, music: song writer, independent
Whelans south city centre, Music: live venue: rock, independent
Cobblestone, north Dublin, irish traditional music every day
Dice Bar, north Dublin, music-pub/bar, live-music, live DJ-mix, rock-elektro
Button Factory venue: pop rock independent elektro, pints and talk (seems to be a place where locals go for their Friday after work pint)
