Hi Steemians!

Today i decided to tell you about a very unique ethnic group of Ukraine called Gutsuls.

They speak Ukrainian well, but communicate with each other in their ancient dialect. If you are a tourist, you will hardly understand what they are talking about😂😂😂.

I was pleasantly impressed with how these people guard their customs, traditions, recipes, and so on. They consider it a great family value and they passe it from generation to generation.

Hutsuls are unusual Ukrainians. It seems like they deliberately hid in the mountains from the influence of noisy cities. The development of technology is also not very interesting for them. They created their imaginary "small country"where they live in their pleasure.

These are very friendly and hardworking people. They are very fond of welcoming guests.

I often go to rest in the Carpathians. This is relatively close to Lviv where I live, so even on weekends it's a great opportunity to relax.

Every time we rent a house, cos to go to the Carpathians and live in a hotel is a pure absurdity😕. The hosts have always been pleasant and hospitable, and living conditions are even better than in hotels (which are much more expensive).

This is another indication that Hutsuls are friendly and hospitable people.

In Hutsulshchyna (Carpathian region) a lot of attention was given to magic rites, and it's the magic of nature and elements.

The magic contains virtually all Hutsul creativity, from the most basic - patterns on embroidered vestments, to unique Hutsul music. Interesting facts about Hutsuls are in the use of unique musical instruments such as trembita, which supposedly can cause rain, and drive away evil spirits.

I also tried to play trembita (look at the first photo). It seems very simple: you just need to blow the air into trembita and it will start its roar. In fact, to master this musical instrument, you need to have big lungs. Hutsuls play with ease on trembita, but me (and all my friends) I couldn't blow at least some kind of sound at all 😁😂😂😂😂😂.

I saw how the local kids silently laughed at our vain attempts 😁😂😂😂😂.

In the Hutsul region, the artistic industry is very well developed: wood carvings, manufacture of various ornaments, household items and household items made of copper and leather, carpet weaving, weaving, pottery and so on.

Personally, I always buy homemade brynza (cheese from sheep's milk) and smoked cheese (from goat's milk). It's very healthy and tasty! You should also try it some day:).

For lovers of bee honey here is a very large assortment. Natural wax, mushrooms: marinated, dried ... what only the soul desires.

But be careful with wine! The owner of our rental house recently told us the following: there is almost no natural wine in the Carpathians! Everything offered on the market is powdered wine. Also, it is not worth buying tea there. This is usually a mixture of incomprehensible dried grass and stems of wild blackberries.

Now you know what to look for when you go on holiday in the Carpathians! Hopefully my experience will be in your favor once😉😉😉.

P.S. All paintings are made by an unknown artist. I made photos of them in Vezha Vedmezha restaurant😉

Best wishes,

Olga:)

Maks looks like a person from the Carpathians )))

Які гуцули! ;)

Не то слово 😁😂😂😂😂

If I'm not mistaken, then on the first photo the wind instrument is trembita. Trembita is probably very heavy.

Yes, you are completely right!! It's trembita:))) and it's really heavy 😬😬😬.
