Pikes Peak是科罗拉多泉市附近的一座海拔四千多米高山，有一条公路可以开车上山顶。五月初第一次去那里，山上还是大雪封路。六月第二次去的时候，路全部开通。当天的空气不算清新，有些地方下着雨，闪电不断地击到山谷中。

科罗拉多泉是个军事重镇。有人说如果发生第三次世界大战，这里将是敌人的首要目标。
