The Vibrant and Dazzling Muttrah Souk of Muscat
It's been quite sometime since I put up a post on Travel, so here today I bring to you this colorful and vibrant Muttrah Souk (Market) of Muscat..
This is one place no visitor would want to miss when they travel to Muscat. Even if you don't end up buying anything it's a delightful place to be because of it's location. It is located at the Corniche so after some shopping you can either enjoy a walk a the Corniche or settle down for some local grub at the Corniche where the local Shawrma is something one should not miss..
At the market one gets to see a lot of Omani traditional stuff along with other Arabian stuff. The market is big with lot of by-lanes and one can easily get lost inside.
This is the main path in the Souk.
These caps that you see are the traditional Omani Caps. Every Omani man wears these types of Caps on a daily basis. They have beautiful embroidery on them.
Look at this Frankincense shop. It is very famous in Oman and is the best one in this region. There are loads of Frankincense shops in the market and the whole place has a very wonderful fragrance because of it.
And then the other most famous here is the Semi precious Crystal Jewelry. You get the most authentic crystal jewelry here and the designs and variety are awesome.
And then there are loads of local souvenir shops, they have a whole lot of variety of souvenirs from lamps to magnets and so much more
Look at these lamps, the site dazzles you and you cannot decide what you should buy and what you should not.
You get to see the local traditional footwear. They are called as Mojdis.
These boxes that you see are all hand carved and made. Are'nt they just amazing.
This is the walk way at the Corniche just outside the Souk on the opposite side of the road.
This is how people would entertain themselves outside the Souk with the local cuisine.
Muttrah Souk is a very lively place to spend your evening. Hope you all enjoyed the visit of Muttrah Souk with me.
