Hello everyone, I want to little talk about Kiev before the photos. Kiev is a beautiful city for those who live there. Life is constantly flowing around you. Everyone know how they can funny. Of course being funny isn't most important thing for life but I was only observed. And if people of around are happy you are happy at the send. Because happiness is contagious. So, the smile is important for me as people are having fun. Anyway, let's see the photos. I will share my photos and history information together. But as you can guess, this information is from the internet. I'll give it by quoting without changing it.

Places and Their Histories



Golden Gate


When Kiev of the time of Kievan Rus was surrounded by high ground walls and deep ditches. Golden Gate was the part of this defense installation and served as a main town’s gate. But in 17 century Golden Gate was in half ruined condition. In the middle of 19 century the works by clearing and strengthening of ruins were held, the rests of walls were removed. But in spite of this ancient brickwork opened for winds, rain and snow kept on ruining, this made scientist to worry. In 1970 the decision for constructing over ancient ruins a pavilion which would not only protect it from further devastation but also recreates the original appearance of the appearance of the Gate. The grand opening of the reconstruction pavilion was dated for the celebration on 1500 of Kiev in 1982.[1]

First buildings appeared here in the middle of 19 century. On the square was open-air market and circus performances took place. In the 1876 the there was constructed the building of town council. In 1913 on the square appeared the monument to the tsar prime minister Stolypin. Аfter the October revolution in 1917 the monument was destroyed and the square took the name of Kalinin. During the World War II almost all buildings of the square was destroyed. The new building ensemble was created. In the 1976–81 the square was reconstructed here appeared the monument of great October revolution with Lenin in the center. The square took the name of Great October Social Revolution. After Ukraine became a sovereign state the square was renamed into Independence Square.[2]



Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitskiy Monument


Bohdan Khmelnitskiy was one of the most famous Hetmans of Ukraine. And he was who leaded for freedom war against Polishes. Sofievskaya Square was him oppression stands. Khmelnitskiy points with his right hand to the north in the direction of Moscow.[3]



Princess Olga Monument


Princess Olga was princess of Kiev and her housband was Prince Igor. She was smart and educated woman, so expanding its territories as well as in defending it from the enemy. She was one of first persons in Kievan Rus who been christened And Russian Orthodox church ranked her as a saint. [4]


And for Bonus


So, as you see Kiev really a hiscorical city. I couldn't see every historical place in the city. Because our time was limited. But maybe next time I will see the rest of them. So, I guess it's all for now. See you again, keep peace!
