Hawaii Sunset and the Meaning of Aloha
I was lucky enough to get a photo of my dad and me in front of Kame'ole 3 beach in south Maui, Hawai'i... during the perfect lighting for a silhouette sunset shot.
We're throwing up the 'shaka' with our hands, in Hawai'i, the shaka is a symbol of aloha.!
Aloha: The word used when greeting or parting ways with someone you respect; It also represents love and affection. In the hawai'ian language, 'alo' means presence and 'ha' means breath; presence of breath. This is a sacred word and carries a lot of weight and importance among the Hawai'ian culture.
