Little kiss never hurt nobody

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

"Give me a kiss, I won't tell anybody". Or maybe I will.. Lovebirds in the streets of Poland.

We like to kiss and show our affection to each other often every day. Frankly we're very used to touch one anothers back, butt or basically any other body part or simply go hand in hand also in public, since in Finland people are (most of them anyway) open-minded and don't pay too much attention. It is tough possible that somebody gives us sour looks if we are being too handsy. Or maybe it only draws attention if there is two girls kissing... At least we don't have to be scared in here for the fact that we are a couple.

Most of the times when we travel abroad, we become very cautious and try to avoid causing any resentment because in some countries it is not so okay to show affection in public as in our homeland -especially if you are gay. It can be quite hard to remember that we cannot kiss whenever we want to and we miss all the endearments much. It is the best feeling to curl up next to one's own honey in the evening before sleep. It's quite sad that in some countries people don't have the freedom to live their life basically as who they are, but they have to be careful what they say, or who they be with, or what sides they show to people about themselves. I'd probably feel suffocated if I had to live in such country, where others would judge me harshly or even hurt me for my sexuality.

That is exactly why I moved to Europe :)

Isn't it sad still, that you would have to move to get treated as any other human being? Nothing against moving abroad (thinking about doing the same soonish) -but still, why can't we all stand equal and be accepted as we are?

I don't believe in equality :) It is something I learned while living in Europe hahaha

Would you consider yourself as a cynic maybe? :D I'm still trying to keep up the hope.

Hahaha no, I am definitely not cynic. I am very romantic and very much of a believer, adventurer, but not cynic :) I just feel like there is big inequality. And especially u feel it when u move to Europe from so called third world country.

Maybe I'm just too blue-eyed..

Sometimes it is bad, sometimes it is good. But I definitely don't regret moving to Europe. BTW if you are next time in Poland or somewhere close to Austria be my guest, please!

Some countries here in EU are definitely couple steps ahead others, what comes to liberality.
Thanks! We are planning to go to Italy next fall, so you never know if we stop by to check Austria too :)
