Unknown Tuscany - Nozzano Castle- Original Photo Series - Lucca (IT) 2017 - ENG/ITA
Many tribes from North Italy passed through Lucca until the '700's, and it was Longbeards tribe that built the Nozzano's fortress in 1000, that will rule till to be conquest by Pisa's Republic in '1100's.
Molte tribù del nord d'Italia passarono attraverso Lucca fino al '700, e fu la tribù dei Longobardi che costruì la fortezza di Nozzano nel 1000, e che governerà fino alla conquista della Repubblica di Pisa nel' 700.
La prima fortezza di Nozzano fu costruita con legno su un rilievo roccioso, vicino al fiume Serchio, che era il confine tra Lucca e Pisa.
In 1240, Castruccio Castracani, Lord and more later Duke of Lucca redesigned, reconstructed, added walls and modern weapons in the Castle to defend from Pisa's attacks, or whatever another enemies attack.

The Castle was vanquished several times , pushed over and built up over the years. It your last reconstruction was made in 1395, and was placed a marble plate on the right hand inside of the castle main arch.
Il castello fu sconfitto più volte, spinto oltre e costruito nel corso degli anni. La tua ultima ricostruzione fu fatta nel 1395, e fu collocata una lastra di marmo sulla destra all'interno dell'arco principale del castello.
Curiosit
The water well, excaved in the inner Castle wall, was enabling the besieged inhabitants to go out, and to take the sustenance. Unfortunately, one day, the enemy uncovered the tunnel, and it was blocked out with stones giving rise to the death of many persons.
Il pozzo d'acqua, scavato nel muro interno del castello, consentiva agli abitanti assediati di uscire e di prendere il sostentamento. Purtroppo un giorno il nemico ha scoperto il tunnel ed è stato bloccato con pietre che hanno provocato la morte di molte persone.
Nowadays the castle is reasonably preserved, and the best time to visit it is September, where happens "Il Castello Rivive" ( The Castle Revive), a medieval festival that draw a crowd, with a lot typical tuscany food, wines, such as: Ippocrasso (wine overwrought with herbs and honey), and best 13th century songs.
Oggi il castello è ragionevolmente conservato, e il momento migliore per visitarlo è settembre, dove accade "Il Castello Rivive", una festa medievale che attira una folla, con tanto cibo tipico toscano, vini, come: Ippocrasso (vino esagerato con erbe e miele) e le migliori canzoni del tredicesimo secolo.
