It's the JR limited express Huis Ten Bosch! I think I didn't use the shinkansen at all this trip actually.
One of the bad points i recall about the JR Kyushu pass is that I can't use it between Kokura and Hakata... -angery-
How come?
There was once, we took the shinkansen from Hakata all the way to kokura, just to eat Hamazushi at the nearby cha cha town.
But that was a full JR pass though.
yea! only the full jr pass allowed to do that.
I think the JR Kyushu pass itself limited to anywhere below Hakata only, apparently 'different operators', and maybe 'too cheap' to include the northwards route
