Exploring Ketchikan, Alaska with Novelist Johnny Ray which is well known as the salmon capital of the worldsteemCreated with Sketch.

Ketchikan, Alaskan is a fishing village facing the Inside Passage most cruise ships pass by. It's known for its many Native American totem poles throughout town. Because of the many salmon spawning streams, it is also known as the salmon capital of the world.

With a population of under 10,000 Ketchikan is still the fifth largest populated city in Alaska.

The tunnel behind me is on the map for one interesting point, you can go under the houses above, or walk pat them or if you wish drive around the tunnel. You can also drive thought the tunnel or at high tide canoe through it.

I know everyone wants to understand the signs when they are driving, and would love for someone to explain this one to me. And . . . glad I didn't see it after being out on the town

But Finally, it was time to get back on the ship and head on to colder waters.
