The city buried beneath Ohrid located in Macedonia is really beautiful place to visit, so learn more about Ohrid...!

Lake Ohrid is considered one of the oldest lakes around the world. His age is estimated to be 2 to 5 million years. The lake was created by a collapse of the earth. This is proved by the many tectonic activities and the existence of a mountain of 100 meters below the lake level. Ohrid Lake is one of the many attractions for local and foreign tourists.

When God created the Ohrid Lake, he said, "I have created the most beautiful place in the world, but people are very sinners to live in peace on the shores of this lake. So I'll send a monster. Nobody knew what the monster was, but they were all scared and nobody had the courage to live near the lake. One day, a guy called 'Struga' went to the lake and dived into the water to clash with the monster. It was a war to death. At the end of it, the monster won the battle and swallowed the young man. After this event, the people of the area decided to challenge the monster. They found the courage to build a village on the shore of the lake, calling it in honor of the hero Struga.

There is also a true story from the Albanian side. It speaks of a city buried beneath Lake Ohrid belonging to the Enkelejdas tribe of Illyria. The remains of this city are under water. Legend says an earthquake caused the city to dive under water. Legends make this old lake even more interesting.
