A 5-Hour Trip from Rayong to Koh Chang!

Today we traveled from the Novotel Rayong Rim Pae Resort Hotel in Rayong to the Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway Hotel on Koh Chang island, Thailand. The whole trip took about five hours and I am going to share with you a few photos.

A 5-Hour Trip from Rayong to Koh Chang!

We left after breakfast at around 9:30 a.m. and we reached our destination at 3:00 p.m. Koh Chang is one of the largest Thai islands in the Gulf of Thailand and our last visit was ten years ago.

On the way we stopped at the Sunthorn Phu Monument (อนุสาวรีย์สุนทรภู่) who was Thailand's best-known royal poet.

In Trat, we stopped to have some noodle soup before taking the ferry.

Then, we arrived at the pier to embark on the ferry.

We paid 310 Thb for the car, 2 adults and one child.

That's a photo of the return ticket, which is the same price either way.

We waited about twenty minutes before embarking on the ferry and the advertising board is just the hotel we are going to.

Time to go and I was surprised at how efficient and fast all the cars embarked.

It's going to take 30 minutes to get to the island, so it's better to go to the deck.

The roads are small with very sharp curves in the mountain.

Finally, we arrived at the Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway Hotel.
