Thew Soaring Dragon Fish Statue along the Love River in Kaohsiung Taiwan
The Soaring Dragon Fish Statue can be seen on the Eastern shores of the Love River. Originally the Thew Soaring Dragon Fish Statue was constructed to meet the needs of the Kaohsiung Lantern Festival in 2001. It was a promotional to highlight Kaohsiung. Kaohsiung is Taiwan's Maritine Capital. The dragonhead and fish body are the perfect symbols for Kaohsiung, as indeed it is a city being transformed. This amazing statue weighs more than 30 tons and stands over 82 feet high. The statue was constructed completely out of stainless steel. During special events, the dragon"s body is lit up and he breaths out smoke.
