Forest Renewal In The Rich Volcanic Soil Of Mount St. Helens

Mount Saint Helens is getting greener every time we visit. Now, over 38 years later the trees are growing tall and green. The bushes are green, thick, and many are in bloom. Mount St. Helens today is alive with the newness of wilderness growth! This is the picture of renewal. Many species of wildlife have returned to the mountain that was their home. Everywhere you turn there are signs of a renewed growth in the volcanic soil of Mount Saint Helens.  New life has returned to this majestic mountain and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Southern Washington.

Today, those who enjoy hiking and seeing all the renewal that has been happening will find trails and lots of places to camp. This is a mountain that was and is beautiful. Things changed in 1980, and things are still changing. Why not take a trip to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and see first hand a mountain that is changing daily? Life has returned to the mountain, and you will find adventure everywhere you go.

Of course i would love to take a visit with my family to this majestic mountain and am happy things are changing around there

It would be a fun family visit @airsoftman.

Fascinating to watch an area in reborn growth after devastation, witnessing the return of animals, fauna and flora must be exciting.

We don't live near to volcanic places, so always nice to learn about places that do experience this side of nature.

So many sides to nature @joanstewart, and they are all fascinating.
