#Day 7 Royal Botanic Gardens and the Night Market - Melbourne Australia (7-100)
Today we spent a lot of time in Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. Garden wowed us with its diversity and places of memory.
Shrine of Remembrance - It was built to honour the men and women of Victoria who served in World War I, but is now a memorial to all Australians who have served in war. Designed by architects Phillip Hudson and James Wardrop who were both World War I veterans. For Australia, the First World War remains the costliest conflict in terms of deaths and casualties. From a population of fewer than five million, 416,809 men enlisted, of whom more than 60,000 were killed and 156,000 wounded, gassed, or taken prisoner.
Time for a picnic :)
Night Market - once a week crowds of people from Melbourne come in the evening to Market Viktoria to taste cuisines from around the world. The market is huge.
Very vibrant, striking photos. Much drama captured, even in a landscape shot. Beautiful work!
