Walking around Argos today, you can't suspect it has been inhabited since the Neolithic period! It is the biggest town in Argolis and a major centre for the area but all you can see is a small city not any different from many others in Greece.
And yet it has been continuously inhabited as at least a substantial village for the past 7,000 years and is a member of the Most Ancient European Towns Network!

@intrepidphotos Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Sunset over P.P. Long Beach with some longtail boats (ruea hang yao) parked for the day. This shot was taken just about a month before the 2004 Boxing Day or Indian Ocean tsunami wiped out everything on the island including most of the beautiful people there. Phi Phi Don is a rugged limestone island with development confined to a low sandbar isthmus separating two main wings of the island and did not stand a chance. The waves up to 30 metres (100 ft) high ended up taking the lives of approximately 280,000 people across 14 countries. Ko Phi Phi Don. Ko Phi Phi Archipelago, Andaman Sea, Thailand. There are few things as romantic as a walk along a deserted beach during a proper African sunset. No filtering or editing applied... just an epic sunset on the South coast of South Africa.

Schönbrunn Palace, a wonderful building in the heart of Vienna, Austria. getting into the palace from this large garden is taking quite some time. So you can enjoy the nature until you go into the palace.

After a trip to Geysir and Gullfoss, around 100 km from Reykjavik, I saw a real icelandic sunset. The sun exactly between the cloud and clean sky part offers a great spectacle. Cold weather but heats the heart :)

The old town of Skopje is a labyrinth of cobblestone streets, numerous traditional restaurants and cafés, lots of souvenir shops and in the background you hear again and again a call for prayer from the mosques. It really is a unique atmosphere that you can find almost mowhere else in Europe.

Zagreb Cathedral, Croatia

Europe is home to many amazing cathedrals and so it is no wonder that Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, has a medieval cathedral of its own that can be seen from many spots around town.

Curonian Dreams

Another perfect sunset at Curonian Gulf, Lithuania. Nearby Klaipeda.
Very very calm evening with great soft and dreamy pallette of colors. Very wide angle lens to get most of the scene in one frame.
The mirror water produced just amazing reflection and final great result with nice clouds formations in the sky

Enjoy the scenery!

That sure is really calm and that reflection of the sky in the water is just out of this world.

Biggest, if we look overall, waterfall of Sweden - Tannforsen. Here in its winter look. After really cold days, waterfall begins to freeze, first - building this huge icycle forms on the sides, later, at the end of February - March, is covered by ice in almost whole size! - just imagine the mass of ice which gather around the flowing water... waterfall is 60 meters wide.

Looking at your pic just reminds me of what's to come pretty soon - snow, lots of it:)

Great that we live in countries where we can experience snow... just imagine how emty the winter would be without it...
