I took this picture on my way to the city where I recently moved - Sibiu. Autumn is my favourite season because I am a lover for the various colours of nature that can be seen only in the wilderness.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #110 - winner announcement!

@jpphotography Asian Sunday entry:

Temple in Surat Thani, Thailand. I recently spent a day in Surat Thani, a city in Southern Thailand. Due to monsoon season it was raining a lot, but when I visited the awesome night market, the sky cleared up and I was able to capture this beautiful sunset behind a temple.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #110 - winner announcement!

@davedavis91 Australian Monday entry:

Finally, I got some fresh images taken in down under this year. The probably most iconic hotspot on the east coast, White haven beach in the midst of the Whitsunday Islands of the coast of Airlie Beach. Most people hop on one of many 2D1N tours that sail you and and a group of people around the islands. A wonderful experience. We got lucky and saw it all. Whales, sharks turtles rays,... countless breathtaking encounters with the marine wildlife.

@jpphotography Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:

Sunset in Ko Lipe, Thailand. I really enjoyed the time I spent on Ko Lipe, a small island in the Southern Andaman Sea. Especially the snorkelling off the island and the sunsets like this one from Pattaya beach were highlights of my visit.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #110 – winner announcement!

@vcclothing African Wednesday entry:

Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, we spent the day checking out the waterfalls on the Zimbabwe side. Even though there was only 20% of water that normally flows over the falls it was still amazing to see!

Panoramic view of Garachico, a wonderful little town located on the northeastern coast of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. The town was badly damaged during a volcanic eruption at the beginning of the 18th century but it recovered amazingly.

One of the highlights that i saw traveling Italy was Lake Como which is in Northern part of Italy so surreal it is known for its dramatic scenery set against the foothills of the Alps and at the time we were there the mountains still had snow caps around them which made the scenery even more beautiful.

There are two things I love about taking photos with river, sea, lakes and the likes - clarity and reflection. This is one of my favourite one image taken at Scotland in the UK. Glencoe Lochan started off as a man made landscape, built in the 19th century by a Canadian business man for his homesick wife. That's why you may think of Canada when you see this image.

Rivers are beautiful subjects

But very difficult for amateurs like me to get a good photo !!!

Častolovice Chateau, the Czech Republic
This chateau date back to the mid-13th century, then it was rebuilt several times. The last reconstruction is from the beginning of the 20th century when it was rebuild in Neo-Renaissance style. The courtyard with this fountain is really wonderful and you can have coffee and a cake in the courtyard coffee shop.

Loch Tay, or as it is affectionately known, Guiness Lake. This beautiful body of water is located in the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland. A beautiful country that's well worth a road trip!

The way through a forest with a horse!

The days are getting shorter and colder. Reason enough to take the horse and take a walk through the forest. Lonely and untouched nature characterize the forests in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany.

If you travel in the central part of Bulgaria and you have to cross from the Southern to the Northern side of the country you have to pass through Stara Planina mountain, it is a majestic range that splits the territory.
I took this photo from Shipka peak, near the war memorial and Bulzudzha peak could be seen with its famous "flying saucer" communist building that is now being renovated as a tourist spot.

Thank you!

An alley in Évora (Alentejo region, Southern Portugal) that ends in an old street staircase... I especially liked the colorful reflections on the stair railing mimicking the colors of the old building at the top of the stairs.

PS: please, click on the photo to see it in full resolution.

Good luck to all participants!
Cheers !

View from one of the many nature trails in Madeira Island, Portugal. There's a specific kind of forest in this island, called Laurissilva, a sub-tropical humid forest. And as you can see... it's a joy to the eyes! :)

One of the most visited tourist sites in Vienna, Schönbrunn Palace is worth a visit. the imperial family used it as a summer residence, but the Turkish invasions led to its near-destruction. It was later rebuilt to make it the Versailles of Austria. There are obvious similarities between the two palaces, especially when we go through the gardens.
