7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #24 – winner announcement!

@racheleecious Asian Sunday entry:

This was taken last year when we go to a trip in Albay, Philippines. This is the perfect coned shape volcano, the Mayon Volcano. I took this picture because of the perfect reflection of its image in the ricefield with water. This volcano explodes last January 2018. Mayon is the one of the many tourist destination here in the Philippines.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #24 – winner announcement!

@akirachang Australian Monday entry:

I took this photo at Brisbane story bridge. It is a heritage-listed steel cantilever bridge connecting northern and southern Brisbane. At night, the bridge's purple lights lit up half of the Brisbane river into a deep purple colour. Conjunction with the building light beside, It makes a great contrast at night. A really unique scenery in Brisbane Australia.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #24 – winner announcement!

@dmytrokorol Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Morning on Praia do Pinhao in Lagos, Portugal. I wasn't sure I need to get off the bed that rainy morning and drive 30 km to this beach, but I glad I did it. A thin line of clear sky appeared on the horizon just in time to show let the rising sun enlighten everything around.

The largest and most famous sphinx - the Great Sphinx of Giza, situated on the Giza Plateau adjacent to the Great Pyramids of Giza on the west bank of the Nile River and facing east. The sphinx is located southeast of the pyramids. Although the date of its construction is uncertain, the head of the Great Sphinx now is believed to bear the likeness of the pharaoh Khafra.

Enjoy the scenery :)

That looks magnificent!

It was during my first visit to Egypt that we hopped on some camels in order to visit the pyramids in proper fashion. After an hour or so of humping around the Sahara from pyramid to pyramid and the sphinx, we headed back through the open sands. Another group was passing through right under the setting sun. I knew this would be a great shot, but I only had seconds to grab it until the caravan went too far, and trying to take pictures while the camel below you is lurching back and forth was quite difficult! I only got 2 frames, and this is my favorite shot from that camel journey.

Taken 1km from the pyramids in Cairo - Egypt.

Awesome moment captured!!

Thanks! Yeah it was quite difficult, as anyone who has ridden a camel knows how much they lumber back and forth, its hard to stay stable on their back :)

I know exactly what you mean. I explored the pyramids on camel back aswell was very hard to get a good shot.

What an experience! Great entry.

This picture was taken at sunset in the Erg Chebbi dunes of Morocco. Our caravan stopped to enjoy the color transformations of the desert. Even my camel seemed to be admiring the sunset. I asked our berber guide if he ever gets sick of this view. He said "The desert is my home; this is where I feel that I belong." P2211759.JPG

Great photo! Very creative with the camel as foreground...

Thank you so much!

What a beautiful image!

Early this year i got to explore the great pyramids of Giza on camel back. Here is a picture of the camel i rode, his name was Alex. This was such an amazing was to see the pyramids and after the camel ride i sure did walk like an Egyptian ☺

There is nothing better than exploring a remote trail or mountain in the beautiful South Africa! This so-called "block-house" on the horison were erected during the Boer War as a lookout and guard post for the Boers against the British Empire around 1900.

Long time no see, hope all is well Jaco....

Hi Tomas. Indeed... It's been a crazy busy time at work. Don't worry, I've not forgotten about you and your awesome contests. ;)

Djibouti is not the most tourist country in the world. But not for fans of the underwater world. Each year, from October to December, several dozen whale sharks come to the Tadzhura Bay. Perhaps, this is the only place on the planet where you can safely swim with whale sharks, without their feeding.

Ah what a dream photo! And that's good to know - I have avoided swimming with whale sharks in Asia exactly for that reason.

You must have some guts to do that:)....

Whilst cleaning the fur of the younger ones from louses, this old chimpanzee named Poco got struck by a moment of contemplation. The last louse seemed to be mind blowing delicious and left him in this state for a while.

In this picture you can see an African family. The picture was taken from an Africa trip in 2008. We met this family when we were on our way from the north of Benin back to our home in the south. On the way I was with my family. Benin is a small country in West Africa.
The funny thing is that we drove for hours through virtually uninhabited land and then suddenly out of nowhere this family appeared.

Views of Cape Town in South Africa from the mountains overlooking the city. The mountains were amazing and there was so much to do in the city and was able to complete a bucket-list item of swimming with sharks.

Incredible views!

Don't you just hate it when you're going for a jog and a zeal (or dazzle, who knew multiple zebras were called this?!?) of zebras block your path? Thankfully these lovely animals in Hluhluwe, South Africa, were quick to trot past and I continued my jog!
