Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @daveonarrival:

The Bolt Tower. This is what it looks like when you build a cafe on top of an old blast furnace from a decommissioned steel plant. The glass building is the cafe. Named after a regular visitor to the city of Ostrava, Usain Bolt, the world's fastest human. You can even find his signature at the top of the cafe.

I don't post food pictures very often, but no Czech experience is complete without some of this amazing (and incredibly affordable) food. Not to mention the amazing beer! 🍺

I'm not disparaging German beer at all. It's some of the best in the world. However, because of the German Purity Law, some measure of creativity is lost in a beer that can only have three ingredients, by law. The Czech beer I had during this meal was a house brand and was coffee infused. One of the best beers I've had.

That said, when it comes to whisky, I'm the complete opposite. I like my whisky kept to tradition. It's the Gemini-rising in me, accented by my Taurus the bull stubbornness. It confuses many people 😜

I am glad to see your entry in the contest. Food sure is an essential part of culture and traveling. What a great entry for today's edition. Thank you so much and have a great day. Tomas

Golden sunset over the Silver Lake in the Silesian town of Opava. Originally a gypsum quarry that got flooded, the lake now serves as a popular recreation area where people come to relax and enjoy some outdoor fun.

The place where the Thirty Years' War began, Prague Castle, The rear part of the Vladislav palace

Three men were thrown out of the window (from the highest one on the picture)on May 23, 1618. Historians call this event a Prague defenestration. The Thirty Years War began. About a third, maybe half of Europe's population died as a result of the war.
It is paradoxical that the three men survived. On the photo, you can see an obelisk with a cross, which one of them had been set up to celebrate the Virgin Mary to save him from death.
Do you think those kissing couple in the picture know it?

Night photo of Old Town Hall Tower in Old Town Square, Prague. On the other side of this tower there is the famous astronomical clock. Its construction started on 14th century, and it is built in Gothic style. You can spot the moon on the left side of the image.

Make the effort to get up early and walk the charles bridge before the crowds have hit. Sunrise is an exceptional time. It is serene, peaceful and even a bit haunting as the blackened statues watch over everyone who passes by. I had walked the bridge every day, but it was not until the very early morning of the day we left that I felt the impact of its beauty.

Cesky Krumlov is simple and awesome. What else can I say, must see and get lost in the city between the old narrow streets, take a look around the castle and having nice walks on the fresh air. Never forget that is not just sightseeing, drink a coffee or a beer anywhere you can't be disappointed!

Piss is an amusing and unique art installation by David Černý which is located just outside the Franz Kafka Museum, close to Charles Bridge.
The art installation is basically two bronze men urinating into a pond, which is shaped like the outline of the Czech Republic. The movement of the men is quite realistic, with the men turning their bodies and their 'private parts' moving up and down as they urinate. Apparently their pee isn't just random, it actually writes famous quotes from Prague residents in the water!

Impressive gothic architecture
St Vitus can be seen from all over Prague and is more impressive close up. The cathedral is free to enter. The kids enjoyed spotting the interesting gargoyles around the building. Inside, the stain glass windows are beautiful. The building is full of history.

Cesky Krumlov
Always liked these old medieval towns with a towering castle in the center or on the side. Where most of the streets on the width do not allow you to move vehicles and they are pedestrian. And in the case of this town they are also twisted like a snail.

St Vitus Cathedral, within the huge Prague castle complex is stunning - particularly its vibrant stained glass windows. The more famous of which are by Alfons Mucha "the Father of the global art nouveau movement".
