Sydney and Cronulla - First impressions / Erste Eindrücke
SYDNEY
It´s almost 1 week ago since we arrived in Sydney and time is flying again. We haven´t been up to much as we´re searching for vehicles every day without success so far. But tomorrow will be the day, I can feel it! 😉
On sundays you only pay 2,50$ Australian Dollar to travel the whole day by train. So we took that chance last friday and went into the city. Just to kill some time and to distract from the car search. The weather wasn´t really good but we made the best out of it.
Es ist fast 1 Woche her, seit wir in Sydney angekommen sind und die Zeit ist wieder da. Wir haben noch nicht viel gemacht, da wir jeden Tag erfolglos nach Fahrzeugen suchen. Aber morgen wird der Tag sein, ich kann es fühlen! 😉
Sonntags zahlt man nur 2,50 $ Australischer Dollar, um den ganzen Tag mit dem Zug zu reisen. Also haben wir letzten Sonntag diese Chance genutzt und sind in die Stadt gegangen. Nur um etwas Zeit totzuschlagen und von der Autosuche abzulenken. Das Wetter war nicht wirklich gut, aber wir haben das beste daraus gemacht.
From Cronulla, were we live, we took the train to Circular Quay were the Ferries leave to all the different locations and were the big Cruise Ships come in.
We took a Ferry from Wharf 4 to Taronga Zoo. Don´t worry we did not went into the Zoo, we don´t like Zoos that much. But from over there usually got a awesome view of the skyline. Unfortunately it was cloudy and the view wasn´t really good. But at least we went on the ferry and past the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge
Von Cronulla, wo wir leben, nahmen wir den Zug zum Circular Quay, wo die Fähren zu den verschiedenen Orten abfahren und wo die großen Kreuzfahrtschiffe ankommen.
Wir nahmen eine Fähre von Wharf 4 nach Taronga Zoo. Mach dir keine Sorgen, wir sind nicht in den Zoo gegangen, wir mögen Zoos nicht so sehr. Aber von dort hat man normalerweise einen tollen Blick auf die Skyline. Leider war es bewölkt und die Aussicht war nicht wirklich gut. Aber immerhin waren wir auf der Fähre und sind am Opernhaus und der Harbour Bridge vorbei gefahren.
Unfortunately trips like this one are quite time consuming as Cronulla is a 1 hour train ride away from the CBD, so we can´t do this every day.
But hey, we live in Cronulla which is pretty nice!
Leider sind Reisen wie diese hier sehr zeitaufwendig, da Cronulla nur eine Stunde mit dem Zug vom CBD entfernt ist, also können wir das nicht jeden Tag machen.
Aber hey, wir leben in Cronulla, was ziemlich schön ist!
Cronulla
Cronulla is one of the many Beach suburbs of Sydney. It´s located about 25km south of the city and boasts many surf and swimming spots. Some say it´s the Birthplace of modern surfing and that´s why there was dozens of surfers in the water the last two days as the surf was amazing down here. But priority is the Van, that´s why I do not have a Board yet.
Cronulla ist einer der vielen Strandvororte von Sydney. Es liegt etwa 25 km südlich der Stadt und bietet viele Surf- und Badeplätze. Einige sagen, es ist der Geburtsort des modernen Surfens und deshalb waren in den letzten zwei Tagen Dutzende von Surfern im Wasser, da die Wellen hier unten erstaunlich waren. Aber Priorität hat der Van, deshalb habe ich noch kein Board
This town is all about surfing and beach live. The water is pretty cold with only 19 degree but people already start swimming and going to the beach.
Cronulla is also quite famous for the Surf Life Saving. The kids start quite early with the training to become a Lifeguard. Sometimes we just sit on the beach and watch them while they train. It´s a pretty hard training.
In dieser Stadt dreht sich alles um Surfen und Strandleben. Das Wasser ist ziemlich kalt mit nur 19 Grad, aber die Leute fangen schon an zu schwimmen und gehen zum Strand.
Cronulla ist auch ziemlich berühmt für das Surf Life Saving. Die Kinder beginnen recht früh mit dem Training zum Rettungsschwimmer. Manchmal sitzen wir einfach am Strand und beobachten sie während sie trainieren. Es ist ein ziemlich hartes Training.

It´s nice down here but i can´t wait to hit the road in our van we havn´t bought yet.
Es ist schön hier unten, aber ich kann es kaum erwarten, mit unserem Van, den wir noch nicht gekauft haben, auf die Straße zu gehen.

Hehe first question I need to ask, did you surf!? I do hope you find a van very soon, but please don’t forget to surf. And water from 19 degrees sounds pretty warm to me. Really loving the nature swimming pools Australia does have everywhere.
