One of the considerations in choosing a hotel is its location which is located in strategic place. No matter what hotel stars and amenities are incomplete. Insofar as it meets the minimum standards of service, facilities, and comfort, it is eligible to be occupied.

The consideration of time and cost efficiency made me choose Hotel 61 at Jalan Iskandar Muda, Sei Sikambing D, Medan Petisah, Medan, North Sumatera. Wanting to seek treatment at Sumatera Eye Center (SMEC) located on the same street, Hotel 61 is the most rational choice because it can be reached only with five minutes walk. No traffic jams, no taxi fees, and most importantly, do not spend much time waiting in line at the SMEC hospital because I can arrive early.

By booking through traveloka.com online site, I booked a superior room for RpRp445.431. a matter of expensive and cheap is relative. However, for a three-star standard hotel, the superior rooms were in my opinion very small and narrow. Hardly any gaps left for to perfome the salat (prayer).

View through the window also does not spoil the eye because only see the roof of the shop. Grateful also for still having a room that has a window, even though I was not in the room for long.

Looking for the lobby and the hotel reception desk is a bit confusing as it is hidden on the left. The location is not too prominent because in front of it there is a franchise restaurant ready to eat. For urgent needs, the existence of the restaurant is very helpful.

For SMEC hospitals and if there are shopping needs, Hotel 61 is also a strategic choice as it is not far from Plaza Medan Fair and Pasar Petisah. Both locations-if you can-can be reached by foot. I walked from Plaza Medan Fair to the hotel, less than 10 minutes.

The hotel is located right in front of Medan Plaza which has been burned and has not been built yet. If the plaza is rebuilt with more complete and magnificent, the location of the hotel more strategic because it just crossing the road only.

Breakfast at 61 is not too complete, but for a traveler, is very adequate. If you want to enjoy different foods, stay looking along Jalan Iskandar Muda, and just by walking alone, let cheap and healthy.[]

Pilihan Strategis 61 untuk Efesiensi Waktu: Hotel Review

Salah satu pertimbangan dalam memilih hotel adalah lokasinya yang terletak di tempat strategis. Tidak masalah hotel tersebut bintang berapa dan fasilitasnya tidak lengkap. Sejauh bisa memenuhi standar minimum pelayanan, fasilitas, dan kenyamanan, sudah memenuhi syarat untuk ditempati.

Pertimbangan efesiensi waktu dan biaya membuat saya memilih Hotel 61 di Jalan Iskandar Muda, Sei Sikambing D, Medan Petisah, Medan, Sumatera Utara. Karena ingin berobat ke Sumatera Eye Center (SMEC) yang terletak di jalan sama, Hotel 61 adalah pilihan yang paling rasional karena bisa ditempuh hanya dengan lima menit berjalan kaki. Tidak macet, tidak ada biaya untuk taksi, dan yang paling penting, tidak menghabiskan banyak waktu untuk antre setibanya di rumah sakit SMEC sebab saya bisa datang lebih pagi.

Dengan memesan melalui situs online traveloka.com, saya memesan kamar superior seharga RpRp445.431. Soal mahal dan murah memang relatif. Namun, untuk hotel standar bintang tiga, kamar superior itu menurut saya sangat kecil dan sempit. Nyaris tidak ada celah yang tersisa untuk salat.

View melalui jendela juga tidak memanjakan mata karena hanya melihat atap pertokoan. Bersyukur juga karena masih mendapatkan kamar yang memiliki jendela, meski saya tidak berada di kamar untuk waktu lama.

Mencari lobi dan meja resepsionis hotel sedikit membingungkan karena tersembunyi di sebelah kiri. Letaknya tidak terlalu menonjol, karena di depannya ada sebuah restoran waralaba siap saji. Untuk kebutuhan mendesak, keberadaan restoran tersebut sangat membantu.

Untuk urusan di rumah sakit SMEC dan jika ada kebutuhan belanja, Hotel 61 juga menjadi pilihan strategis karena tidak jauh dari Plaza Medan Fair dan Pasar Petisah. Kedua lokasi itu—kalau mau—bisa ditempuh dengan berjalan kaki. Saya berjalan kaki dari Plaza Medan Fair ke hotel, tak sampai 10 menit.

Hotel ini terletak persis di depan Medan Plaza yang sudah terbakar dan sampai sekarang belum dibangun. Kalau plaza ini dibangun kembali dengan lebih lengkap dan megah, lokasi hotel kian strategis karena hanya tinggal menyeberang jalan saja.

Sarapan di 61 tidak terlalu lengkap, tetapi bagi seorang traveller backpacker sudah sangat memadai. Kalau ingin menikmati makanan yang berbeda, tinggal mencari di sepanjang Jalan Iskandar Muda, dan hanya dengan berjalan kaki saja, biar murah dan sehat.[]
