西新宿のハイアット リージェンシー 東京。8階までが吹き抜けになっているアトリウムロビーの天井からは、巨大なシャンデリアが3基吊るされています。

プレスリリースによると、シャンデリア1 基の高さは 8mで、直径 4m。185個の電球が使われています。11 万 5 千個のクリスタルが使われており、重さ は2 トンです。クリスタルは、全てオーストリアのスワロフスキー社のものです。

According to Press Release,１chandelier is 8m high and 4m in diameter. There are 185 bulbs in use. 115,000 crystals are used and weigh 2 tonnes.The crystals used are all from #Swarovski in Austria.

このホテルは、1980年、ホテルセンチュリーハイアットとして開業しましたた。2001年にセンチュリーハイアット東京となり、2007年にハイアット リージェンシー 東京になりました。

これらのシャンデリアはオープン当時に設置されたもので、1980年当時の値段で1基5,000万円と言われています。

シャンデリアは、定期的なメンテナンスが必要です。2013年には、シャンデリアの点検・清掃作業を初公開しました。2016年にはメンテナンス中の囲い壁の一部に透明な窓を設け、作業風景が見学できるようになっていました。
