Translating Pages From One Language to Another-How To Easily

in #translation6 years ago

For those of us that are new to the Steemit community, I have seen several comments from people requesting ways of being able to translate pages from other languages to their native language "on the fly". I believe that I have came across a great, simple method for those who are wanting to know how to do that. This tutorial is for Google Chrome Browser.

  1. Download Google Translate from the Google Extensions tab:

  1. After downloading you should be able to install up in your toolbar where you may possibly have other extensions. Here is where mine are and what the Google Translate icon looks like:

  1. So to test it out, go to a page, say something from China so the page pulls up in another language. Here is an example from @oflyhigh

  1. When on the page, you can highlight all of the post that is in a foreign language to you. After doing this, go to the Google Translate Icon and click it. The highlighted text should come up but also at the bottom, the language you want it to be translated to will show

So now, if you ever wanted to view other posts (like how @wholeself-in wanted to and we talked about) but didn't know of a quick and easy way to translate them (yes I know, it is not perfect but at least you can get the gist of the post :) ) hopefully this will help.

If there is another way or if there is a @steemit tool that I am not aware of, please comment and let me know.

Thanks everyone!!!
