Card 1: Owl Cailleach-oidhche
Detachment, Wisdom, Change
This Owl is sitting on an oak tree, sign of wisdom keepers. As the full moon shines bright over the night, there is a crone or hag goddess head offering, hanging from the tree, representing the spiral dance of life and rebirth.
Owl is known to many cultures as the Wisdom keeper or watcher over the gate from life to death.
It is a night hunter and loves the early morning of twilight when all the mouses are stirring about. Owl bones are hollow and they weigh only ounces, this gives them the ability to be masterful, swift and silent hunters. A family of 4 owls, can eat anywhere from 4000-8000 mice a month, that's right! When farmers have mice problems they are much better off having owls around than putting out poisons. Poisons will kill the owls once they eat the poisoned mice and in turn your mice population will take over.
Here's where I would usually rant about the ineffectiveness and genocide of all life in using any poisons, that shall be for another post regarding #earthdeeds.
If you picked card 1, today your message is quite profound regarding taking anything that you view as a disadvantage and turning it into an advantage. Integrated experiential wisdom that you have gained along your journey. Owl's have exceptional hearing, this too is a test to how you listen, hear and process information. Are you a good listener? Are you discerning the information that you receive and acting appropriately, or are you reacting to someone else's actions or emotional field. If you are a sensitive person and fatigued from your surroundings, perhaps allow the time, to change up the routine or atmosphere. Owl is known as a guardian of change, perhaps a foreboding of death, or a birth or a change of scenery such as a physical move is lurking around your periphery.
As you can see, I used some labradorite stone hearts today while picking these cards.. Labradorite is an amazing stone that is found in Norway, Madagascar, Brazil, in many places.. It aids in calming our nervous system from all the changing and fast moving energies of our environment. I have been obsessed with this stone most my life and have worn it almost every day for decades. Works well with Owl medicine!
Card 2: Air Dragon Draig-athar
Inspiration, Insight, Vitality
If you picked Card 2 chances are that you have a bright awakening coming today or this week. As you see the lightening bolt in the background, Air Dragon, takes the element of air and power and through bolts of energy creates new life. Through the channel of intellect and psyche new ideas, vibrations, frequencies, emotions are created. Sometimes, this comes out of nowhere, while in silence, or maybe in a crazy traffic jam. This is a time to create instead of consuming. Shift your focus to engaging and action, your vitality will grow and be a great example to others around you. The air dragon can be a messenger from Sky God that the physical weather outside will be challenging, such as tons of snow, tornadoes, hurricanes etc. Perhaps a bit of preparation, such as filling up some water bottles, having some back up food and supplies if power goes out. Air dragon tells us; it is much better to be prepared than scared! Air signs are, considered to be mutable. With the pictures of a snake in lower left corner, this too is representing energies that transform and are adaptable to any sudden and sharp changes. Snakes and dragons are typically seen together in many druid folklore.
