Recently, the Ministry of Railways has approved the construction of the Bilaspur-Mandi-Leh line. This railroad is about 498 km long. This project is expected to be completed in March 2019. After its completion, it will be possible to enjoy the tourism in those mountainous and inaccessible areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, where it seemed impossible to run the rail. It will connect the rail lines of Mandi, Kullu, Manali, Keolong and Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir cities. The proposed railroad will pass through the Shivalik, the Great Himalayas and the Janskar chains, and the rail will run from 600 meters to 5300 meters high. Due to being close to the China border, it is considered to be strategically important. After this construction, it will be one of the highest railway routes in the world. After completing the project, Leh will be connected through the rest of the country through the railroad.
