Happy saturday Folks!
Weekend is here and everyone seem to be enjoying.

I have been going through HR training in my organisation and learnt some tips on body language as a part of campus to corporate program. I thought it will be of some help to my steemit friends if I share those tips here.

Their first impression when people meet you for the first time depends:

1)55% percent on your body language
2)38% on your voice tone
3)only 7% on your words

So that is how important your body language is. SO here are some tips to improve your body language.

You will seen defensive if you:

  • Don't look at the other person or look away when they look at you
  • Cross your arms while they are talking or looking at you
  • Cross your legs
  • Lean away from the other person or communicate at a distance from the other person.

You will seen aggressive if you:

  • Stare at other person
  • Point your finger at other person
  • Thump your fist on the table
  • Stand while the other person remains seated or stride around the room
  • Move into the "Personal" or "Intimate" zone of the other person

You will seem friendly & Co-operative if you:

  • Smile and look at other person face( Don't look all the time lol..That will be awkward. 60-70% will be optimal)
  • Nod your head as the other person is speaking & tilt your head to one side slightly while listening
  • Have open hands and gestures(Palms facing the other person)
  • Lean slightly forward when speaking
  • Move closer to the person(Not too closely but as appropriate)

You will seem anxious if you:

  • Blink frequently, lcik your lips, clearing your throat(psychological reactions to nervousness)
  • Open and close your hands regularly
  • If you show any other quick body movements

Is someone being honest with me??:

  • Very brief glance down when making an untruthful statement
  • Brief touch to the mouth or nose with the hand
  • Brief touch of the hand to knee(when sitting)

Guidelines for the posture:

  • Keep your feet apart and your weight evenly distributed
  • Keep your arms comfortably at your sides when not using them to gesture or manipulate visual aids
  • Sit straight when you sit
  • Avoid closing or crossing your hands
  • Show a mild smile

These are the basic tips that you show should follow when you meet someone important. Also please share your thoughts in comments if you feel anything is missing apart from above suggestions.
