Sitar Sunrise - Original Music
Here's an improvisation on my sitar. I added a few tracks of drums via my roland handsonic that include a tabla, a yangqin, a guzheng and some subtle bongos. There's also a jaw harp track to add some drone. I call this one sitar sunrise because of the jwildfire fractal overlay, and the video finally finished rendering early in the morning :-). Thanks for listening :-)

Very cool! Thank-you for this:)
Thanks for listening, i'm checking out your guitar videos.
Sounds great, thanks! I like the tone of the sitar, I first heard the Beatles with Ravi Shankar, I hope I spelled his name correctly (and I hope I didn't make a mistake, it's been a long time since then).
This sitar was built by Hiren Roy the same family that built George Harrison's sitar and Ravi Shankhar's sitars. It's a pretty old sitar from the early 70s, i got it from a beatles fan. It looks complicated but its a pretty easy instrument to learn, hard to tune though.
Oh! Didn’t know you have a Sita!! I bet you could play any instrument! How about Chinese two string Erhu?!
Have a nice day!
I almost got one of those once, perhaps one day. I do have a mongolian morin khuur but it needs to be restrung.
Wow! You got that! It’s much bigger than the Chinese one. You should have it restrung soon! The sounds should be quite exciting to hear!
Here's something i recorded a year ago on it, so far i'm only good at long drone notes. Probably the most difficult instrument to learn to play complex things on. Pretty easy to play basic notes on.
Very nice mix! Quite unexpected to see several instruments at the same time! Almost like an orchestra of odd instruments! Very strong Yang or masculine sound! Quite hypnotic mix!
I am beginning to think you are from another planet or had UFO DNA strands in you!
Cheers.
Haha i just play instruments taken from ufos lol.
Would you like to play on the street? :) I think with this music you can earn not bad money and do what you love)))

Sadly Chicago isn't the friendliest place for street musicians. The cops always show up and threaten arrest. Must be some kind of city policy about it. There are plenty of bars and whatnot to play in though.
We also had police clashes over this.
We tried to get permission from the city authorities. We came to the town hall and wrote a statement, listed our repertoire and we were even ready to pass an audition. But they refused, although our amplifier allows us to play in the central square, since it does not increase the level of permissible noise. It seems to me they did not even watch our statement.
The main reason for the clash with the police was that we play in the central square where there are residential buildings and old people complain about the noise. But it seems to me they just wanted to show their power and importance, because we played the classics and played quietly and we were liked by all the old people.
And I found a way out. I play in a big park. There are no residential buildings and the police have nothing to show us. There are few people in the park, no tourists, but there is a pleasant audience of old people and mothers with children and they do not mind.
So you can try the park option or try to write a statement to the town hall. Perhaps you have a more regulated law. The option with the park should work, because there are no residential buildings.
We also have bars. But they want a 1.5 hour program. I only did for an hour. The music program is done slowly for some reason)))
Ah so its the same everywhere. In the suburbs people don't mind street musicians as much. I didn't even think of the park option good idea. I once went to asheville north carolina where street musicians are welcomed. There is one on every corner, it draws in lots of tourism to the area.
