I don't think so. The more time the media spends on impeachment, the less attention Democrats running in the primary gets to promote a better vision and gain support. Plus it strengthens the belief that many Americans have (regardless of whether it is correct or not) that the impeachment is done primarily for political reasons.
It also removes the impact from doing it in the first place. Thus people wont give a crap if/when it happens in the future.
I don't think there's any data that supports that hypothesis
