STEEMIT ATTACK OF THE BOT'S!
https://steemit.com/steemit/@bearbear613/bimbo-s-bots-and-getting-caught-in-the-crossfire
I wish I could say something has changed; but it hasn't. I stuck it out though!
I have made this mistake a few times before.. it's just my nature. Sometimes I like to peak into the depths of places where ignorance is more bliss.
It's hard to decide as a new Steemian what to do in the harsh world of the reality matrix we call STEEM-IT.
Veteran users will often be-friend you on your first day. With their powerful vote they can make you feel like "someone" has got your attention.
Unfortunately as I have progressed and seen the feeds you witness much infighting. You then don't know what to do or who to support. Sometimes it's better just to duck so you don't get in the middle of any infighting.
(picture is a representation of a bombsell.. not necessarily a bimbo)
This reminds me of a story that happened not too long ago. Like I said Steemit is a microcosm of the real world. When I was in trouble a good friend helped bail me out of a terrible situation. During this period he was moaning about a girl he liked. So after 6-7 months of moaning about his girlfriend, on-and-off, on-and-off he eventually got into a fight with her. She was a bombshell of a girl; but sharp as a knife. A real man-eater.
One evening my good friend stormed out when she arrived at a dinner party. My first instinct was to protect my friend who deserved my loyalty. I heard about the story and what she pulled and I told her she was kind of a bitch for doing what she did. So of course my big mouth (and my slightly intoxicated body.. ok highly intoxicated body) brought me into their infighting.
I wish I never said anything. So with Steemit I didn't really take a position but I still got caught in the crossfire.
A veteran over here either for good or for bad wanted to help my blog with his voting bots. However it wasn't one voting bot; it was more like 400-800 (which I didn't know). I didn't need that kinda of attention from bots; and of course his enemies created their own bots to down-vote his bots. So of course whatever rewards I DID receive even before his bot's entered the fray were suddenly gone!
I lost most of my payout for getting up-voted by someone else's bots that I have no control over. Then whoever this person irked; attacked my post and down-voted my post. Let's be clear it was a WHALE. They seem to be around and actively involved monitoring this system. So I'm not going to name names, and if you really care (which you don't) you can see who is involved from my blog.
So it was a bot-battle on MY BLOG article.
My earnings went to practically nothing. I told this veteran to please never up-vote my blog again with his bots; and it wasn't because he wasn't trying to help me! To be clear his bots raised my payout by a measly $4.00! So we are not talking about alot of Steem Power here. So my post of a mere $7.00 payout (which is a lot for a minnow) now sits at $0.50 cents.
I know it's not a lot of Steem, but it's the principle of it! Why would I blog so hard to have everything erased? Why do that to a minnow?
So, I'm trying to just stay out of the spotlight. I'll post and not get into the steemit politics. There's a lof of HOT-ROOTIN-TOOTIN finger warriors on their keyboard here. When money is involved; people get NASTY! So I guess I know what a real Anarcho-Capitalist does. This is the WILD WEST.
Anyway's,
Be well my Steemian friends.
It doesn't take away that much from this wonderful platform. After all, where could I be that would connect me with so many glorious people who actually LIKE MY CONTENT (and pay me for it)!
Thanks for your Support,
And that's why I don't like the bots, when they're well used are an interesting tool, when the're bad user are a constant pain in your butt.
And also I'd like to say, that I don't like much a hierarquic system that allows to whales to abuse of the weekest users.
they can do whatever they want when they bring the money to the table.
A very informative post and i truly appreciate you sharing your story. I have not sought out bots. But there are those who do. Blessings @bearbear613
