I want to share the music I've come across that has a certain quality to it, which is rare and hard to find. The kind of music that moves you so deeply in a way that you can't understand or describe. The lyrics or music or video may make no sense to your brain, but it does to your soul. It's extremely cathartic and inspiring.

Song: Payphone

Payphone has a hauntingly melancholic vibe right from the start. It is the sound of pure emotion, but it soon jumps into a more upbeat perspective. It's catchy, it's cathartic, it's nostalgic. Synthwave, aka retrowave, has exploded in the last few years and you will find no shortage of great music by independent artists. Fantom '87 is one of my favorites. A lot of people are exploring the synth sounds of the 80s and early 90s and bringing them back to life. People love it. I don't know why. I wasn't alive in the 80s. I was only alive in the 90s for about a month, which I have no memory of.

Still, I have a special place in my heart for these sounds. Maybe they lead one to imagine a simpler, happier world. A magical world of video games, pizza, Dungeons & Dragons, arcades, VHS tapes, neon signs, space exploration, computers, and everything else you can imagine. A time when everything was booming and there seemed to be no limits to what we could accomplish. The world that existed before you grew old enough to lose touch with your childlike, joyish innocence and wonder. The world that still exists in your heart when you learn how to appreciate adulthood and reconnect, reintegrate with your inner child, to work together so you can both thrive in the adult world as one, and live life with enthusiasm, energy, and enjoyment again.
