My Water Fast Update

in #tenkminnows5 years ago

So last night I completed the 3 day water fast, i could of lasted another day or two. Being that it was my first time doing, I figured 3 days was plenty. It was a great experience and I plan on doing on a regular basis.

So day 2 was pretty rough I had an headache pretty all day, which was expected. I didn't feel to hungry. Day 3 was surprisingly good. I had a lot of energy, so much that I went to the gym. I had a nice back and chest workout, I also did some cardio. Being that I haven't eaten in 3 days I didn't want to overdue it. I didn't feel hungry either.

Like I said earlier I could of stretched it a couple more days. Even though I wasn't hungry, the thought of eating stuck in my mind. I think as I do this more often I could master the mental aspect of fasting. I also didn't help that I had to cook dinner for the family. I made them baked chicken thighs, with red potatoes, tomatoes, and garlic. I baked it all in the same pan, I also made them yellow rice. I did well in controlling myself, because I usually taste the food when I cook. This time around I didn't it was tempting.

Although it was tempting and the family said the meal was delicious. I couldn't break my fast with such a heavy meal. I would of overworked my digestive system. When it was time for me to break the fast, I first drank a cup of warm water with lemon juice. I then had a small serving of fruit, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. For my main meal I made a salad. I had mixed lettuce, avocado, cashews, coconut flakes, dried cranberries. I drizzled some olive over the salad and added some garlic and herb seasoning and some pink sea salt.

I could of did without the cranberries because it had 14 grams of sugar, but its natural sugar not added. So I felt it was okay. The salad was delicious. I must say I did have an headache a little while after the meal. I googled it and found it that was a pretty normal occurance after breaking a fast.

So today I'll do an intermittent fast to gradually ease myself back into eating solid foods. I read that you shouldn't eat solid foods until the third day after fasting. So for dinner I will have a fruit smoothie, and the same salad. I might add some chick peas to the salad.

Thanks for your time. Steem on 🚀🚀🚀 S/O to @partiko for giving me the ability to post on the go.

Its so cool isnt it! How it changes our levels of hunger also becoming less hungry. The firsttime i did it, it changed my whole diet and thinking about foods 😂

I went food shopping yesterday before I broke my fast. It was so many healthy things to buy that I never really paid attention to before. I'm excited to see how my body and mind changes.

Its quite addictive! The logest i completed was 72hours but im comfortable with 36 hours, and then do eating from 11am til 7pm only and eating lots of butter or coconut fats 😊

It definitely is quite addictive. Since I did the 72 hours, I'm going to aim for 120 hrs on my next fast. Until then I'll do intermittent fasting and some 24 or 36 hour fast. I'm going eat more salads, chick peas, and nuts

Fasting definitely takes mental determination for sure! Good job going for three days!
