Not all flash drives are the same, not all USB 3.0 flash drives are the same. In fact, they vary so dramatically it should be illegal to even call them USB 3.0.

Then look at another USB 3.0 Flash drive that is even more expensive, but performs worse than a USB 2.0 drive.

If you go by the product description or price, you would have bought the second one. Now the one in this review isn't the top drive either, that drive is twice as expensive for 1/4th the space. The drive I use is really good, but not as good as the top results, but is better than 90% of the USB 3.0 flash drives and a lot cheaper.

USB 3.0 flash drives can work in either USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and USB 3.1 slots but will only go as fast as the drive and the slot allows. If you do pick up this drive, ignore Amazon's recommendation to get the newer version of this drive, it's a lot slower and far more expensive. This model is dirt cheap and one of the faster non-premium priced flash drives.

Flash drives are slow as it is, having a good one makes a huge difference in performance.
