Solar blinds that provide electricity and cool in hot weather, now on sale!
Our homes are awaited by a real ecological revolution, thanks to the SolarGaps project created by Ukrainians, i.e. innovative shutters with built-in efficient solar panels. The future is today!
Two years ago, a very interesting project appeared on the popular Kickstarter, thanks to which our houses or flats were to become ecological, because they were powered by solar energy and cooled in hot weather in a cheap way. We are now receiving great news from the European Commission itself, which under the Horizon 2020 program supported EUR 1 million of non-returnable funding for the SolarGaps project, so we can expect that solar blinds will soon be produced on a mass scale, popularized throughout Europe and I will develop the idea of smart homes.
The entire SGV1 system is carefully thought out and refined. Blinds have the function of tracking the sun to catch as much sunlight from it as possible. The designers also thought about manual handling or with the help of a smartphone and a special application. We can use it to track the amount of energy obtained and better to optimize their operation under your own preferences.
Solar blinds not only produce electricity, thanks to which we can power various appliances at home or store this energy with powerbank, but also offer what is standard in this type of equipment, namely the coolness in the apartment when the heat prevails. In this way, they save energy, which is consumed by air conditioning.
It must be noted here that these are really big savings. Yevgen Eryk, the originator of the project and constructor SolarGaps, emphasizes that the blinds are able to generate 100-150W of energy for every square meter, when mounted outside the window and 50-100W when installed inside. The product operates in a wide temperature range from minus 40 to plus 80 degrees Celsius.
