That the Power comes back on

There is quite a lot of truth here.

Our current society pretty much depends on electricity including:

• electrical power plants need electricity from other electrical power plants to start them up.
• power lines need electricity to connect and disconnect lines.
• transportation of the various fuels need electricity as well.

Only the renewable energy sources (wind, water, sun) might be able work on there own. But even that is questionable. Windmills need to be turned into the wind. Watermills need to open and close there floodgates.

It could well be that after an apocalyptic catastrophe we won't be able to restart the power grid. And without electricity we might not be able to restart society.
