Stop Making Fun of Space Force

Ok, everyone making fun of Space Force and Pence needs to stop playing themselves and actually listen to the speech. He talks about missles, particularly ones being developed to not be detected; he also talks about attempts to knock down satellites.... that's not just an inconvenient loss of 4G that also effects aircraft, shipping lines, essential communications. We take all this technology for granted without understanding the grave fragility of our current infrastructure. This exemplifies the need of a space force to protect the infrastructure we have.

The space force Pence mentioned is one that would likely consist of mostly engineers and strategists on Earth that would help navigate satellites from damaging debris and attacks. To expect NASA, a mostly research organization, to meet these demands would expand the scope of NASA's responsibility away from the important work they already currently do. The creation of a space force would allow time and energy spent by NASA to be directed towards technological advancements that conquer the challenges space travel presents.

This also emphasizes the need to evaluate the current technology and work towards decentralizing information distribution to protect ourselves from severe loss of vital systems.
