The Rules for Secure Operations

These are not mine, this is a compilation of knowledge over years of experience and study. Mistakes have been made and sometimes we learn the hard way. I am attempting to help so that you don't have to take the same path. Some of these are self evident but still are of note. This will be a multi-part series, as there will be many rules to learn from, as there have been many lessons. ABC. Always Be Careful.

Rule 13: Trust your gut.

Rule 14: Always carry a knife.

Rule 15: Do one thing at a time.

Rule 16: Pick your battles…

Rule 17: Simple and light equals freedom, agility and mobility.

Rule 18: Target dictates the weapon and the weapon dictates the movement.

Rule 19: Use ACTE: assess the situation; create a simple plan; take action and evaluate your progress.

Rule 20: Understand. Anticipate. Adapt.

Rule 21: Always keep on pushing forward, especially during those life changing moments.

Rule 22: Find a way to succeed.

Rule 23: Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash. (Patton)

Rule 24: A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. (Patton)

This is more additive to the Original 12 and goes into more depth. These rules focus both on security and execution of successful operations. Stay safe.
