A scarecrow that a hydrogen-filled airship is explosive, use the creators of aircraft and helicopters.

Airship construction is a win-win investment of money, says the head of the public design bureau for aeronautics, the leading design engineer of the wing and plumage design department of the Antonov state enterprise Georgy Kozachenko.

Do not confuse Anders with Andersen!

107 years ago, in far 1911 the only airship in Ukraine was built so far. It was created by the designer Fedor Anders and is named for the place of creation and residence of his pilot-designer - "Kiev". The airship was made on a soft scheme, the volume of the shell - 890 cubic meters, length - 35.5 meters. The 37 kW engine allowed the airship with a pilot and two passengers on board to reach speeds of up to 40 km / h. Aeronautical vehicle in its parameters was not inferior to foreign ones. Funds for its production were collected at the expense of charity, which was in vogue, because the citizens knew that their ruble would fall to its destination.

In 1912, more than 150 airship flights were carried out and more than 200 passengers were transported to Truhanov Island, a favorite recreation place for Kyivans.

In the 60s of the last century, on the initiative of enthusiasts from the Kiev Public Aeronautics Bureau (OKBV), which existed for many years under Antonov's firm, in the center of Kiev along Lenin Street (former Fundukleevskaya, now Bogdan Khmelnitsky) on the facade of house No. 50, where In 1913, F. Anders lived, installed a memorial plaque. In the area of the airport "Kiev" (Zhulyany) one of the streets and a stop of public transport also bear his name. However, since the surname is consonant with the name of the Danish writer Andersen, everyone thinks that the stop and street are named after the famous storyteller.
