On Tuesday, December 12, Synaptics announced Clear ID. Clear ID is an on-screen fingerprint sensor. And, according to a Synaptics spokesperson, they will release Clear ID on a phone by a 'top 5 OEM.' OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, which means Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, LG, or Oppo. But, many people believe Samsung is the lucky partner. First, Samsung was believed to want an on-screen fingerprint sensor since the S8, and it seems they might of found the lucky partnership.
