The future is now! Is it really?

I often see people getting excited about technologies that they use. Look at it as some sort of magic. Many to believe that the modern technology is the epitome of human progress and technological evolution.
Meanwhile all I see is this:

While some are in awe be the technology that we possess as humanity, I am feel like we're somewhere here:

And have a very long way to go.
