What is a wifi extender?
A wifi extender is used to extend the strength of wifi network signal for a longer distance. It is a network device that grabs the network connection from the main router and then gives the network a little boost and then creates another wifi network separate from the original.
It is generally used in offices, shopping malls etc where a single high speed connection is shared by many people. People who share their own connection with others may need to use one for extra connection coverage.
For example, John has a Asus wifi router. He shares his connection with mike. Mike lives in the 3rd floor while John lives in the first floor.
Since there is a little distance between the two locations, the router set up in the first floor doesn't reach all parts of 3rd floor. So, Mike buys a wifi extender to increase the network speed and signal so that he can use the same wifi without any problems.
